So…I’m a week away from my deadline on 52 Books in 52 Weeks, and to date I’ve read 31 books. Not even close to the 52 I’d hoped to read this past year.
boo. I fail. Actually, not entirely–I mean, 31 books are better than zero, and that’s probably way more than I would have read normally, had I not challenged myself. But now I’m bummed because I wanted to meet my goal! oh well. I think I’ll keep going until February, at least (when I go back to school for my final semester). Hopefully by then, I’ll have reached 52. Maybe.
Of course, by then I’ll be working full time and going to school full time, so my leisurely reading time will be diminished significantly. I’m quite sad about that, but at least it’s only one more semester.

every year I start out saying I’m going to read more books than the year before… but every year I end up reading (when averaged out) 2-2.5 books a month. some months I will read 5 or 6 and then the next two months I won’t finish anything. I have startitis with books just like knitting! 31 books is a lot though, people have said to me, “you read 26 books in one year?? I haven’t read 26 books in my LIFE!” so… we are still ahead hehe
Oddly, my startitis is limited to knitting
I’ll usually stick with a book for a couple chapters, and if I still don’t like it, I’ll give up on it and move to a different book. True, we’re not doing too shabby! Some reading is better than none
Now I almost feel guilty for having read 63 books this year! Although I will say I probably read 0 the year before, so we’re somewhat even. Maybe you could read a few more short ones before the end of the year?
