I had my annual medical exam a couple weeks ago, including the dreaded girly exam. Today their office called with my results.

knitting, the keeper of sanity, vol. 2Posted by: sassenach in Knitting, My So-Called LifeI’ve been avoiding sewing the buttons onto my February Lady Sweater, even though it’s finished and just needs the ends woven in. Anything involving a yarn needle just feels like seaming…let’s see how long it takes me to sew on three little buttons. In the meantime, I am knitting–look, an armwarmer! I haven’t knit the second one–just finished the first this morning and have been updating Flickr and what not. Lately I feel like I’ve been checking out mentally. At work, sometimes I just get flustered and have to let my brain shut down for a few minutes at a time. My job, by the way, is still making me insane. Especially since we’re getting closer to the Presidential election and my co-workers are so utterly unprofessional as to discuss politics every other day, while in the workplace. I don’t participate whenever possible–unless someone speaks to me directly–but I’m really getting fed up with it. My workplace doesn’t feel very much like a business at times so much as HIGH SCHOOL. Seriously. I want to complain to Human Resources, but with the buddy-buddy atmosphere, I’m afraid I’ll just get tagged as a snitch and they probably won’t discipline anyone, anyway. And I don’t think they have a way to submit a complaint anonymously, otherwise I’d do that. ugh. Maybe Santa will bring me a new job in time for the holidays. In the meantime, I’ve kind of fallen back into an old habit, which is comforting myself with new yarn whenever life starts to suck. But I’ve been knitting and not just hoarding, so I’m ok for now. Knitting is becoming an escape again, which is perfectly fine with me. It helps me when I zone out and check out mentally. Once again, it’s helping to keep me sane. Saw this music meme over at knitv: The rules: B.) Enter the year you graduated from high school in the search function and get the list of 100 most popular songs of that year C.) Bold the songs you like, strike through the ones you hate I graduated in 1997. Also, to make the list easier to read I’m just leaving the ones I don’t like in non-bold text. The list: Top 100 Hits of 1997/Top 100 Songs of 1997 1. Candle In The Wind 1997, Elton John 93. Twisted, Keith Sweat Wow, I hardly like anything from that year, haha! Last night was my last day working at the library. In the meantime, I am going to enjoy only working a full-time job and not being a zombie every day! That’s going to be nice. Also, I have lots of plans for fixing things around our house that I haven’t had time to get to: curtains to sew, things to knit, etc. It’s going to be great! After work last night, I came home to my package from The Loopy Ewe! This order made me a Loopy Groupy so I was really excited to see what I would get! First, the yarn that put me over the top into Groupy territory, Eidos sock yarn from The Sanguine Gryphon, in colorway Socrates: And my free welcome yarn is Cherry Tree Hill Supersock, in Sugar Maple: These arrived packaged very nicely in a Loopy tote bag, along with a skein of yarn that must not be named, for it is for a swap partner and I cannot give any details. But it’s really pretty and I hope she enjoys it because I really want to keep it for myself, haha. But I won’t.

more knitting, more fandom.Posted by: sassenach in Knitting, My So-Called Life, TwilightMy February Lady Sweater is almost done! I’m on the first sleeve–knitting it on dpns which is kind of a pain, but I don’t have a 12″ circ so I’m just dealing with it. The fit is perfect and I’m so happy with the way it’s coming along! Today I worked my last Sunday at the library (my second job). Today also begins my final week at the library. After the beach, we went to Borders and I got the 2009 Twilight calendar. And I’m probably going to go ahead and put it up, even though it is not 2009 yet, if for no other reason than to stare at this loveliness: After Borders, we stopped by Target for a few things but my feet started hurting due to my stupid flip-flops so I got all whiny and wanted to go home, haha. Also today, I picked up a few little things which I can’t describe because they’re gifts for a certain someone’s upcoming birthday…:) |
