Henry isn't pretending not to know Clare - he's never met her before that first meeting in the library. But Clare HAS met him before - the FUTURE him who time traveled back to her during her childhood. But that Henry doesn't exist yet. Clare has memories of Henry that Henry hasn't lived through yet.
