I’m not entirely sure what’s my problem anymore, except to say that I am ALWAYS cranky. I think I have an emotional disorder and am probably in need of medication. Wouldn’t surprise me.
I got new glasses! So it also goes without saying that yes, my prescription got worse.
And my optometrist kind of chewed me out, saying that I really need to stop overwearing my contacts because I could damage my eyes if I keep wearing them for a month at a time instead of only two weeks at a time. ok, ok, you guilt tripped me enough, thanks!
So I have to go back in a week for a follow-up and then he’ll write me a contacts prescription, on the condition that I wear my contacts correctly now. ok, ok. This time I really will.
One of my sisters and her two young sons stayed with us this weekend, and oh my goodness, I was SO ready for them to leave this morning. I’m just such a hermit that I can’t stand being around people all the time. Plus the boys kept doing things that I feel are rude, like coming into my bedroom WITHOUT knocking. I hate that. And their mom is right in the living room, why can’t she teach them manners? Something along the lines of, “don’t go into your auntie’s room unless you knock first!” Something like that? arggggggh.
You know what I’m always saying–I really need to get out of this house!

i find that i’m cranky most of the time lately, too. even when i feel happy. i think maybe its just situational, brought on by stress! at least, that’s what i keep telling myself.
Do you sleep in your contacts? Or are they just the two-week disposables? I wear my two-week disposables for months at a time, but I take them out every night.
rachel m: I feel stressed all the time! I think I need to be sedated
Lisa: no, I take them out at night. Even so, my doctor says I can still damage my eyes because the contacts aren’t designed to last for a month at a time. grrr.
*I am no real authority on contacts disclaimer* however, I do work in close proximity, and my sister spent a lot of time as a tech, and she saw some very bad, very gross, very icky things due to people wearing their contacts too often, too much, too not-following-the-directions. the one thing a lot of people forget is, contacts are considered a drug, just like a Rx you would get from your doctor for an illness, you need to follow the directions, not misuse it, and follow up with your Dr. to make sure the Rx is still correct.
ok, I could go on, but I’ll get off my soapbox now. dang what is it with me and these huge comments??
moving on! I was so cranky yesterday, I mean… CRANK-AY! I think a lot of it is the weather, it’s wearing us down… but a lot of it is stress too, I’m sure. *sigh*
your glasses look really cute though
did you pick them out all by yourself or did you have help?
You know, one of my employees came in the other day with her son and I was SHOCKED when she told him to shake my hand and answer me when I asked him a question. I rarely see parents actually parenting these days (and I’m not saying parents don’t parent but I guess they don’t where I live) so I can relate to you.
I like your glasses. I can’t wear contacts much so I live in my glasses.
P.S. If you ever have trouble sleeping and need to relax before bed, try Yogi Tea’s Bedtime tea. It was my saving grace during my divorce. I would drink it an hour before bed and my eyelids actually get heavy. No grogginess in the morning, just heavy deeply needed sleep. All the other ’sleepy time’ teas on the grocery shelves do not work. Yogi Tea’s Bedtime Tea. Just tuck that one in your pocket…
kc: I picked them out myself!
These were my second choices, since I wanted the rimless ones and have actually wanted those since I first saw them…like 10 years ago or whatever, haha! But alas, it is not meant to be! It’s ok, these kind of offset the roundness of my face
Kim: isn’t that sad? We should be shocked when kids don’t have manners, not the other way around! The whole country’s just going down the drain, apparently. lol ooh, thanks for the recommendation! Is that brand in groceries, or specialty stores like health food…?
Love the glasses. And I’m with you on needing quiet time. I got used to it after Adam died, and now I can’t stand being around people for too long a time. It’s weird, and probably not healthy, but the least of my worries!!
Me too!
