7 things, again!

I just did this meme recently, but heck, why not do it again! Besides, beaunoze tagged me and this way, I don’t have to make my thoughts coherent. Lists are my friend.

The rules: Each person tagged gives 7 random facts about themselves. Those who are tagged need to write on their own blog those 7 facts as well as the rules of the game. You need to tag seven other people and list their names on your blog. Then you leave those you plan on tagging a note in their comments so they know that they have been tagged and to read your blog.

1. I found a behavior trainer for my doggie Autumn! yay! I decided to try Bark Busters and her first appointment with them is this Saturday morning. :) :) :)

2. I am going to knit a second Green Gable tee. I just bought the yarn for it today, Brown Sheep Co. Cotton Fleece in Prairie Lupine (photo forthcoming)!

3. After yesterday’s holiday, my day off Friday, and half a day off sick Thursday, this morning I opened my work email to find 64 messages staring at me. *blink blink* By the end of the day, I FINALLY waded through everything, so I’m caught up. phew!

4. I’m still sick with this cold that won’t go away. The sucky thing is that the girl I work with, who I think I got it from, is still sick also. Then this morning, my boss went home early because now HE is sick. yikes!

5. I had Chick-Fil-A for dinner this evening. yummy.

6. I am running out of things to write about, lol.

7. I haven’t bought sock yarn in at least a couple weeks now!

ok, if you’re reading this, consider yourself tagged. There ya go! :)

f^@#!!!

This is me normally: :)

This is me right now:

This afternoon, I was stopped by a cop who told me I was driving 39 mph in a 25 mph zone. ok, fine, I was speeding. And when the officer asked me if I knew how fast I was going, I was honest and said no. He took my license and registration, blah blah, and took his sweet time checking my record.

I did not have ANY tickets or anything bad on my driving record. The only ticket I ever had was from almost 12 years ago!

HE GAVE ME A TICKET ANYWAY.

This is probably the only time you will ever see me curse on my blog!

sick, again.

After waking up this morning with a raging sore throat and attempting to tough it out, I went home from work early today. I felt semi-nauseous and chilled at my desk, and just wanted to go to sleep. So after I came home, I took a nap. I feel somewhat better and I think (hope) it’s just a cold. A girl who works in my area was out all week with similar symptoms, so I guess we caught the same bug.

Thankfully, I have tomorrow AND Monday off, so I’m going to use the long weekend to recover. But sheesh, could I just quit getting sick, already?! It’s getting old!

on capris and wool and emails that make me look stupid.

Capris: I really like these for the summer, even though short people like me (5′4″) are made even shorter-looking because instead of hitting just above my ankles, they usually hit me somewhere at or below the ankles, and sometimes I look like I’m wearing high-wadders instead of cutesy/hip fashion. (That is a REALLY big run-on sentence, I know.) All that aside, I bought a pair of khaki stretch capris yesterday from Old Navy that are pretty cute and comfy. Plus, I had a coupon, yay!

Wool: Because we’re on the cusp of summer and what do I get a hankering to knit? A scarf! Not any scarf, a WOOL scarf! hahaha. What a dork. I’m making a My So-Called Scarf using Patons SWS in Natural Plum. I’ve heard good things about this yarn, and I don’t want to give it a premature review until I’ve worked with it more, but I have noticed that this yarn does not frog well at all! I got distracted and had to rip out my progress, and the yarn has a tendency to felt really, really easily. But I bet it’s a dream when you want to felt on purpose!

Emails That Make Me Look Stupid: I have this tendency at my new job to write emails that make me look stupid. Usually I hit “send” before realizing what someone was really asking, so then I have to send another email apologizing for misunderstanding and then either give them the actual answer, or refer to them to my boss because I’m still so new that I don’t know a lot of the answers yet. ugh! Most people are really understanding, but today, this lady at one of the companies we work with got rather uppity with me–in an email, which comes across as pretty harsh–so my boss is still trying to figure out what’s up with her. Luckily and thankfully, he took my side when I showed that I was in the right (it’s a long story!), but still. I hate when people act rude in emails, it’s just…rude. lol

I’m off to knit with more felty wool and wait for tonight’s season finale of Lost! It had better be good. :)

itch, scratch, repeat.

As a sort of follow-up to yesterday’s post…thanks to Tasha for giving me the heads up about the K9 Academy! I sent them a message about pricing for training, so we’ll see how that turns out. :) Something I also found was Bark Busters, a home dog training organization. They have a local trainer in this area, so I’m keeping them in mind as a second choice (second just because they seem like they might be more expensive…but we’ll see).

To explain the title of this post…I am ITCHY. The other day, when my dogs were having their horrific fight, I ran outside in shorts and a short-sleeved shirt to help break it up. I was only outside for about 10 or 15 minutes when the mosquitoes decided to hold some kind of buffet on my physical person. Or it was probably just one mosquito that had a field day. I counted 11 bites total, some on my left arm but mostly on my legs and feet. Greedy little buggers. So I’m slathered in Cortisone right now, but still itchy. It’s really, really hard to resist the itching but I know they won’t go away if I keep scratching. grr.

a long weekend.

I am so exhausted from this weekend (and this past week).
