inept knitter.

April 15, 2007 by sassenach

It has been so nice to sleep in yesterday and this morning! Being on a work schedule (I work 8:30-4:30), I’ve been waking up around 6 every morning…so it’s good to be a little bit of a bum, just once in a while. ;)

I was working on a lace sock that I cast on the other day, but the pattern was just getting lost since the yarn is so dark and I frogged it. I started yet another sock with some Fleece Artist in Ebony, which is a gorgeous nearly-solid dark colorway that seems blackish-brown to me. Now, if THIS sock works out, I’ll take a photo of it. :D It’s a plain stockinette sock intended for wearing to work, so I hope it comes out ok!

I get into these knitting funks where I cast on several different patterns with the same yarn, and nothing seems to be a good combination. I feel totally inept as a knitter sometimes! That’s usually when I dig around in my stash, find something I forgot I had (like the Fleece Artist), and think, oooooh I can use this! I’m weird like that.

Something I realized, though, is that I’ve been expecting two PayPal deposits and I totally forgot about them! Before I moved back to VA, I sold some CDs to Uzed, and then forgot about them…and I just checked, and they never credited my PayPal. I’ve sold to them in the past, so I know they’re legit, I’m just wondering if it’s because my address changed…anyway, I sent them an email politely asking where my money is, hehe.

I need to eat breakfast (brunch, now?) and hopefully knit something that makes sense and works out. :D

Isn’t the FA in Ebony gorgeous? I just got some last week and love the subtle shading. I can’t wait to see what you do with it, your knits are always so lovely!

    Yay for sleeping in! :)

You are not an inept knitter for not liking yarn/pattern combos… I think that makes you a good knitter – because you realize it and try something else :) Plus, I don’t think there really is such a thing as an inept knitter!

Do post pics soon! Didn’t you say you were bringing your camera to work the other day? *nudge nudge*

Sarah: it really is pretty! When I first got it, I wasn’t so crazy about it…but now that I’m knitting with it, I love it! :)

kc: I know, must update my Flickr! :D It’s just hard for me to find good combinations, for some reason. My first attempt at a Chevron Scarf was a little scary, hehe.
