Recent FOs You know you’ve knit too much when your fingers start to ache from manipulating size 1 and 2 dpns for hours at a time. ouch. But look at the pretty socks (and other things) you can make! :D

I had a knitting dream last night. I dreamt that an order from kpixie arrived, only I didn’t remember placing an order with them. I pulled out a knitting bag (one they don’t even sell, in reality) and thought, “I never ordered this!” Isn’t that sad, even in my dreams I’m shopping for knitting stuff.

In non-knitting stuff…I’m going to get my hair cut soon. Not drastically, like I did last time (had it cut from waist length to my shoulders!), probably just an inch or two. I kind of like having longer hair right now, probably because it’s all girly-girly and once in a blue moon, I get into these phases where I actually enjoy being girly-girly. :D

Off to knit some more!

The internets seem awfully quiet today! You all must have lives, or something. ;)

I, on the other hand, still don’t. I spent hours today job hunting online, and found and applied for three jobs. That’s six total applications for this week. Not too bad. :) The last one took a REALLY long time to apply for, though, because I had to re-format my resume and then fill out a detailed application and then email it to them…phew.

On the sickness front, I still have a touch of the flu/cold thing, but it’s definitely better. When I woke up this morning, I felt slightly less dead than I have the past three days and my congestion is clearing up. Still have a bit of a cough, but it’s going away, thankfully!

(oh yeah and Iboughtmoreyarntoday *runs away*) :D

Yeah, remember how I diagnosed myself as having just a cold? Today I’m thinking it’s more of a flu-type thing. Despite my parents’ insistence that I didn’t have a fever last night (using the oh-so-reliable method of feeling my forehead with their hands), today I got a thermometer (along with more meds and orange juice) and took my temperature. This morning it was 99.9 degrees F. This afternoon, it went up to 100.3 F. :(

I took some Sudafed to relieve my congestion, but it seems to work off and on. I also took some Advil; apparently you can use Advil as a fever reducer. So says the bottle, anyway. Go figure that now I don’t have health insurance, my immune system revolts and I get this cold-flu-whatever thing. boo!

On the plus side, since I’m out of commission to do anything really useful like job hunt, I’ve basically been vegging out and doing…nothing productive. You might call that “relaxing,” but it just feels like “being lazy” to me. I’ve been watching more TV than I ever watched in the past few months (when I was on my odd TV strike). I seem to be on a Court TV kick. I also watched The Holiday yesterday, which was enjoyable. I wouldn’t buy it on DVD, but it was entertaining.

I’m also going to use my fever as an excuse for falling off the yarn wagon and purchasing more in the past few days. My order from The Loopy Ewe is on its way, along with a special order that I just placed (ahem), though I’m not sure how long that will take to arrive. Then today, in my fevered stupor, I went on to Blue Moon Fiber Arts and bought two skeins of Socks That Rock lightweight in Thistle (of course) and Lucy. Lucy seems to be the companion to Little Bunny Foo Foo, which I’ve been seeing and hearing a lot in blogland, but I don’t really like baby pink, and the blue is just pretty. :)

I knit a bit today on my Mona Sock, but the lace (while easy) requires some attention be paid to it, so I can’t do it for very long since my brain is kind of wonky right now. I also worked on my Wicked sweater, but there’s so much stockinette that it gets boring PLUS I’m working with 100% wool in my lap WITH A FEVER, and that is just insane and I can’t do it for long. I think I need a nap or something, but I can’t sleep! oh dear. Sickness = icky.

I’m off to take my temperature again. Not sure the Advil is working.

EDIT: I got my tax refund today, so now I’m less guilty about the Socks That Rock purchase.

AND

My fever just broke! WOO! Back down to 97 degrees F! :)

I’m still alive, but still sick. My cold has gone from hurts-to-talk/coughing-all-day to watery eyes, sniffly/sneezy, and can’t-taste-food. :( grr. Usually when it hits this stage, relief is a couple days away, so that’s what I’m counting on.

I’ve been pretty useless the past three days, so I think I’ll just do some laundry, watch TV, and maybe knit later. I hate being sick, it’s such a waste of energy and time!

I sold some textbooks a couple weeks ago through textbooksnow, and yesterday I got my check in the mail…

And then a few minutes ago, I went to browse The Loopy Ewe, as I do every day…you know…just to see what new stock Sheri has…(can you tell where this is going?)…

And what did I see? Zen String AND more Interlacements Tiny Toes…

So yeah, I just broke my sort-of yarn diet and bought some, in Woodland Fae and Tapestry, respectively. I’m SO weak when it comes to yarn. *sigh*

I was just lying on my bed, in my sickly state (turns out that Mystery Illness is nothing more than a common cold) with my laptop, cruising blogs. My two dogs, who weigh roughly 60 and 70 pounds, just RAN through the house, into my room, pounced on my bed, licked me, and then RAN out of my room and through the house again.

I love being a dog mommy. :)
