Roza's Socks I was literally in the middle of doing kitchener stitch on the toe of my second Roza’s Sock when the doorbell rang. It was the mail carrier and he had two packages for me. When I squeed and said, “it’s my yarn!” my parents kind of made a few comments. yes, yes, I know I have too much yarn, and now it’s sort of being observed…so I should probably A) temper my spending so I don’t get lectured, or B) get a post office box. :D Good thing they weren’t around to observe all the stuff I bought before I moved.

Still on the job hunt. Yesterday I applied for yet another job…I think I’m up to 8 applications thus far. Haven’t heard anything yet, so I’m going to keep looking. sigh. I HATE job hunting! hatehatehate it. There. I said it. I don’t hate the concept of work, in itself. It’s just the dilemma of trying to find something that one hopefully won’t hate, and even if you are fortunate enough to get interviewed and even hired, you still may not enjoy it. But that’s all part of being a grownup, isn’t it? (That’s also precisely what SUCKS about being a grownup, but anyway.)

I think I’ll knit another sock to make myself feel better.

Some of the best jobs I have ever had I found through a temp agency. If nothing else, you could work as a temp while you find something permanent - that way you get to test the waters.

Not to get all jobhunt-nazi on you, but 1) I agree, temp agencies can really help! 2) Are you following up with the jobs you are applying for? I know some places, it seems like you are inconveniencing them, but I know a lot places will not even consider hiring someone who never checks in again. 3) All you can do is keep applying! Eventually something will turn up. You just can’t give up.

Christine: I’ve got an appt Friday morning with an employment agency…I hope they can help!

kc: I’m not giving up yet! :) But I haven’t done any follow-ups. Maybe I should do some next week…
