Happy Feet I guess if life is going to suck, one might as well have cute shoes, hm?

I ordered some Keds Mary Janes to better show off my handknit socks. :) They’re cute! I think I need to break them in a wee bit–they’re size 8.5 and fit pretty well with socks on, but I’m hoping they will loosen up a little.

And I am *still* chugging away on my Brick House knee sock! Last night, I tried doing ribbing instead of increases, and got about 13 rounds done till I realized I just did not like the way it looked (because of where I had started the ribbing). So I went to bed, figuring I would fix it this afternoon. haha…I actually got out of bed, went back to my sock, and ripped it all the way back to the start of the ribbing. :D I continued in stockinette and am doing increases every three rounds up the calf. And can you believe it, I didn’t drop any stitches! I think I’m getting better at frogging. :)

That’s the true profile of a knitting addict–getting out of bed to fix a project, fixing it successfully, THEN having the peace of mind to go back to bed and fall asleep.

I’m trying not to think about Thanksgiving much. The girl I work with, bless her heart, invited me over to her house when I told her today that the husband isn’t coming home this weekend. I think I might go…I really don’t want to be alone. Not on Thanksgiving! Besides, I’ve been wanting to meet her four crazy cats, hehe. I think I need to be a little less anti-social every now and then.

oh, and because kc asked what I’m knitting that hasn’t been photographed yet: a skinny Branching Out scarf, a very plain shrug (with the would-be black yarn for Shimmer), and a pair of arm warmers that have since been frogged entirely. sigh. Knitting is hit or miss sometimes!

  1. Knitting is definitely hit or miss, for me. Hopefully you haven’t jinxed any of your ongoing projects and we will see pictures soon :)

You should go to your co-worker’s house, that would be good. One of mine invited me to their house, but since Carly and I have already kind of planned a dinner, I don’t think I’ll go. Even though I have the same thought, should I be a little less anti-social? Ah well.

    Oh, and cute shoes! =D

  2. I am glad to hear that at least your feet are happy - and CUTE! Go to the Thanksgiving dinner (please!) you can be anti-social another night. Your husband will probably regret his decision to stay away when it is too late to change plans.

  3. kc: I hope the projects work out, too! I may be getting better at frogging, but I don’t want to have to frog! :) And I have decided to go to her house tomorrow–I think it will be good for me. :)

Emma: I’m going! :D I hope he does regret it…and miss me. He’d better!

  4. I love your shoes and socks, they look so fab together!

Hope the kitties are entertaining and the day turns out to be absolutely fantastic for you! :)

  5. Thanks, Alysha! :)
