I just finished reading The Pact by Jodi Picoult. While it is a great story and a “compelling read” as the reviews say, I have come to the conclusion that I must start reading some happy books from now on. At least, books with happier elements in them. Because really–murder? suicide? depression? abuse?–yikes! Help me!

My next official read is definitely the first Harry Potter book. I need to think outside of this world, at least for a little while. (And I just tried typing Harry Potter as Happy Potter, haha! My subconscious is typing, c’mon get happy, apparently.)

  1. Love Jodi Picoult! But yes, happy would be better. You’ll love HP… I’m on the 4th book. :)

  2. Bahhh! I’m so close to finishing it (will probably finish it up after this post!). It’s been a total downer sofar. I’m thinking from your post it’s not a happy ending???

  3. Kim: I will definitely read other JP books, because I do like her writing style. But I think I’ll wait awhile. ;)

Bezzie: I don’t want to post any spoilers, but I will say that the ending is…different. I’m interested to hear your thoughts after you finish!

  4. I finished it! Um, yeah was totally not expecting that. It was a tad bit of a letdown. And the disclosure by the main character seemed to come out of nowhere! Or was it just me that thought that??

  5. Get to reading HP! :) I’m going to try to get to a bookstore today to get Outlander! =D

  6. Bezzie: I will have to email you about the book! :)

kc: I think I will start tonight! :D

  7. I LOVE the HP books, they get sad as they go on, but they’re stellar reading, in my opinion.
I have a couple of books to tuck into the package I’m sending you, other than the Labryinth and TTTW (first not sad, but a bit heavy at times, second made me cry my freakin’ eyes out), but I have some great, easy reading books of the historical trashy novel variety with your name all over them!!

  8. hehe…looking forward to them! :D
