I spent today reading “A Christmas Carol” by Charles Dickens as part of my creative writing homework. (Christmas in July?) We have covered poetry, creative nonfiction, and now we’re starting the short story portion of the course. I figured I would jot down “frowzy” for future reference, in case I ever need to use it to describe one of my characters.
I’ve gotten a lot of knitting done on the husband’s first handknit sweater. Maybe I should stick to bulky yarn. For some reason, I keep choosing patterns that involve long stretches of stockinette! I always think, “easy,” then I start doing it and I realize how distracted I get. But this bulky yarn is acting like a sprinter, so I’m pretty happy.
I showed the husband my progress, and I thought he said, “You need to knit faster.” !!! I said, “What?!” and he said, “I said, you’re getting faster!” So I said, oh.
Speaking of him, for some reason he had the impulse to buy the *entire* Rocky DVD boxed set; that’s Rocky, Rocky II, Rocky III, Rocky IV, and Rocky V.
And he has been watching them all weekend.
He is currently on III. If I hear “Yo, Adrienne!” one more time, I am going to run out of the house screaming, no joke.

haha, he was complimenting your knitting skillz and look how you respond!
At least he is paying attention!
Oh dear, okay, I agree with him on LOTR and HP… but I’d definitely have to draw the line at Rocky – ugh!
Just wait until Rocky VI comes out! It’ll start all over again!
kc: I know, I was on the verge of a freakout until he repeated himself. I should listen better.
Yeah, I hate the Rocky movies, they are so cheesy!
turtlegirl: I know! I cannot believe they are making a sixth. That is overkill.
At least he watches them! My husband buys DVDs in droves and never even opens them. It drives me nuts!
I totally ran up and down the Rocky steps.
um, what? They are making another?
(runs from room, foot steps fade into back ground. Shortly followed by clunking noises and foot steps returning)
Ok, where? I’m ready!! (she says breathlessly with her “postal” outfit on)
