make it work.

July 12, 2006 by sassenach

I haven’t felt particularly bloggy these past few days because I seem to be in some sort of funk. (And it’s not even winter.) I won’t say I’m depressed, exactly, but I am in a craptastic mood every day! I’m just sick of the direction my life is going; namely, nowhere.

I want a new job SO badly. I’m searching but I don’t see any hope in sight. My current job is just not challenging or interesting anymore. And I feel so stuck (trapped?). The husband, who was weaned on the “keep on the sunny side of life” sort of mentality, always tries to remind me that it could be worse, that some people don’t have jobs, etcetera and etcetera. yes yes I know, and it’s not that I dislike work, I just dislike this current job. I need change so badly! I want a real career, not these jobs that I have for a year or two then get bored with, inevitably.

I complain a lot on this blog, hm?

Thus, I have been drowning my sorrows in myspace, knitting, and Project Runway marathons. Somewhat mindless entertainment and diversion, I suppose. Whatever works!

I’ve been feeling blah too, except I’m only partially sure why… blah!

I was wondering if you watched the new PR tonight – I almost forgot about it! Looks like it is going to be a dramatic season!

I know the feeling… everyone needs change from time to time. Wouldn’t it be nice if we could just skip all of the school stuff and menial jobs and land our dream jobs straight away? Hehe, I guess one can dream… :-) Here’s to hoping that you’re out of your funk soon, Tiffany!

I think we were separated at birth.

Serious funkcity over here…. hate my job, hate my direction in life, hate the lemons I keep getting handed…

Sorry. Not much of a mood-booster comment.

Craptastic mood! THAT’s a good term for it. That’s what I have. I get worse summer funks than winter ones.

 I think we should all get together and party…sounds like we really need it!

kc: the blahs suck, especially when you can’t really identify their cause! All I’ve been watching lately are the PR marathons, so there was no way I was missing it! :D I only got to see the first part of the first episode because it was on really late and I had to go to bed…but I know I’ll be hooked again this season!

Kelli: ah yes, dreams keep us going through all the work, I suppose! That’s something to hold onto, at least.

Kim: I feel your pain! Know that I mean that, and I’m not just saying it. :)

Laura: I thought my winter blues were the worst, but now I’m thinking I get summer blues, too…and that is such a bummer. Summer bummers?

summer bummers – that is totally it! (and I love your delicious link to knitty about the needles – the yarniness of it all!)
